Is it possible to become Fearless at Public Speaking?
Yes
Simply Yes.
No Fear Public Speaking is possible.
But that's not to say that you may not be nervous ever again when speaking in public. You see every time someone does a speech, a presentation or a seminar in public, there is always a little stress. But when used the right way, this stress can actually help you communicate better.
As for that debilitating, mouth drying up, complete freeze in front of the audience,YES, that can be overcome.
What's the best way to overcome this fear? Well that depends on the individual.
But, think of it this way. The first time you rode your bike did you fall off? Did it hurt when you fell? Were you scared to hurt yourself again falling off your bike? Probably yes to all 3 of these questions.
Thing is, you Just did it! You wanted to ride your bike. That was your goal. So you kept doing it until you got it right.
So what made the difference? PRACTICE
Doing it over and over again.
All through school I was scared to even ask a question. Speeches, presentations and meetings were not my forte. I feared verbal communication. So much so that in university I avoided all courses that required standing up and speaking.
So how did I go from a phobia of public speaking to presenting to over 2000 people at a time? Teaching and training for 8 hours a day? Conducting seminars in foreign languages that I am far from fluent in?
All it took was practice and facing my fears HEAD ON! And a few other tips and techniques that I have learned along the way.
I'm actually a bit shy. Really I am!
People don't believe me when I tell them. "How," they ask. "How can a shy person speak in public to an audience of over 2000?" Well, I've learned to channel that fear, that shyness, that anxiety of presenting to groups of people and actually have it work in my favour.
In fact I still get nervous. I've just learned that in certain situations it doesn't pay to let my fear take over.
A little bit of nervousness isn't a bad thing. Because I've learned to channel that fear of speaking to audiences into presenting great lectures, conferences and symposiums.
So come with me as I turn your fear, anxiety and phobia of speaking in public into Great Public Speaking Skills.
Anyone can do it!
Believe me, they view from up here looks great!
