Public Speaking Quotes for Everyone

What's the best way to make an impression if this is your first presentation? Use Public Speaking Quotes? Do you want to be an authority on any subject?
Using quotes during your presentations is an easy way to draw your audience in and help to relate to them. While you may be "green" at presenting your topic, injecting a few quotations here and there will make you sound more credible. I have been collecting quotes for a long time. I write them down, highlight them in books (not library books!) I've been given books, magazines and articles with quotations. People send me letters and emails with quotes in them. It is nice to have a collection of quotations when you need public speaking quotes. But you may be asking, "How do I use quotes for Public Speaking engagements?" Well, there is no right or wrong answer. As long as you quote the source they can be used anywhere at anytime. The only suggestion I have is don't overuse them. Just the way music or art can touch your heart, quotations can also have the same effect. Each person that views a certain picture takes something different away from it. Likewise, a quote can influence people in diverse ways. So with that said, use quotes where you want to emphasize a point. Where you want your audience to remember something. Or to finish off your presentation. It doesn't really matter as long as the quote means something to you. A wise man once said, let your heart be your guide. If you appreciate or like a quote, I'm sure your audience will also appreciate them.
It is said that there are no new ideas. Only adaptations of old. There are probably many things that you say now that you've borrowed from someone else, a friend, family member, or a quote. But when you state it many times, it becomes part of you. Still, it is proper and interesting to note, (when we do know,) whom the quote was borrowed from.
With this said, every quote that I mention here, to the best of my ability, has been obtained from a reliable source. There many be incidences where the quotation may be well know as spoken from another person or more than one person. In these cases I have selected the earlier citation. In any case, these quotes for public speaking can be used as an introduction to a topic, to wrap up your talk, or any place else in between. I will keep adding to this page as I come across quotes that merit my attention. So keep checking back for updates to these pages. And enjoy the quotations.
Here is one of my favourite public speaking quotes to remember while presenting.
"Be who you are And say what you feel, Because those who mind Don't matter, And those who matter Don't mind."
