VISION BOARDS
Vision boards are a collage of pictures or words of things you wish to do, items you want, the life you want to live, etc. It can be anything you desire. Vision boards are simple to make. Cut pictures and words out of magazines, newspapers or even use photos. Choose items you really want. They are best if you can attach emotion to them.
For example, I knew someone who wanted to buy a sailboat. It had to be one similar to the sailboat that he and his dad had sailed together. This boat reminded him of his dad. In a way, it would keep the memory of his dad alive. He cut out a picture and put it on his board. Eventually he was able to find and buy not only a boat like it, but the exact one they had sailed together.
I think there might have been a little emotion tied to that item.Once you have your cutouts, put the pictures and words on piece of cardboard or Bristol board. Put it somewhere you will see it often. Look at it when you wake up and when you go to sleep. That way it will be the first thing you think of in the morning and the last thing you think of at night.
Examples:
You may want to buy a house in the country. Find a picture of a house in the country, (the closer to what you actually want the better,) and put it on your board. You may want to write below where you want the house to be located. The number of rooms in the house. Type of house, ie. Brick, stone. Etc.
That dream job you always wanted. Find a picture and put it on your vision board. You may want to get over your fear of speaking to large audiences. Put a picture of a person speaking to a large group. You can even glue a picture of your face onto the body of the person in the picture to make it even more real. When you look at the pictures on your board imagine how you would feel if you had these things. What would it be like to be living in the country? How would you feel after presenting a successful speech to over 2000 people? Whatever you desire, remember to use emotion when describing it. And your visions can become true.
